Dustin Poirier
Dustin Glenn Poirier (born January 19, 1989) is an American professional mixed martial artist, who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), in which he competes in the Lightweight division. He is a former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion. A professional competitor since 2009, Poirier has competed in the WEC as well as the UFC. As of May 24, 2020, he is #3 in the UFC lightweight rankings and #11 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.
Poirier was one of the subjects of the 2011 documentary Fightville by Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker, which examines the mixed martial arts scene in southern Louisiana
Poirier was born on January 19, 1989, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is of French descent, specifically he is of Cajun heritage.[6] Poirier wrestled at Northside High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. He relocated to South Florida with his wife, Jolie for training purposes
