Wajid Khan
Wajid Khan (10 March 1981) is an Indian artist, portraitist, sculptor, inventor and patent holder. He is specialized in carving canvas with nails. "The world has lots of trash to gift me and I am gifted with the caliber to turn it into treasure", said Wajid Khan. Wajid India is famous for his various art forms like Shadow art, metal art, stone art, kinetic art, and nail art. His artifacts had brought India and in particular Indore, Madhya Pradesh all the laurels from across the globe. He had a keen ability to develop his own ways to bring his artworks to life through hard work and perseverance. His recent tribute to Vallabhbhai Patel had garnered him attention and praises through his shadow art technique from across the globe. He was appreciated by the kind words of Anandiben Patel the governor of Madhya Pradesh for his art being dedicated to Sardar Patel. In spite of governments of Gujarat and Africa asking for the installation of Sardar Patel's shadow art at their respective places, Mr.Khan decided to place it under Madhya Pradesh administration. Khan's nail art had been mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records[6] and Limca Book of Records.
One of his artworks is part of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official home of the President of India. He is also a philanthropist, an inventor, and a sculptor. He had designed many scientific types of machinery and tools and one of them was the world's smallest iron. He also has been awarded by the former president of India for his contribution towards art, late APJ Abdul Kalam.
Khan was born on 10 March 1981, in a small village Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh state of India. Khan had very humble beginnings and through hard work and perseverance had climbed the staircase of success. 20 years ago he used to drive tempo for a living and 20 years later he looks back to the events that had taught him life lessons. From sleeping on footpaths to selling clothes to being a rickshaw driver to being named in the Guinness books of world records life has taken a complete circle. He has a knack of learning and teaching what he has learned till this date, for all those who are in need or want some artistic knowledge he imparts his lessons. This makes him rooted and humble to give what he has received from the almighty and world.
